HomeMy WebLinkAbout20011929.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WELD COUNTY, COLORADO JULY 17, 2001 TAPE#2001-30 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, July 17, 2001, at the hour of 10:15 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner M. J. Geile, Chair Commissioner Glenn Vaad, Pro-Tem Commissioner William H. Jerke Commissioner David E. Long Commissioner Robert D. Masden Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick ADDITIONS TO AGENDA: There were no additions to the agenda. OLD BUSINESS: CONSIDER PETITION FOR ANNEXATION FOR PORTIONS OF 37TH STREET AND 65TH AVENUE AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN -CITY OF EVANS (CON'T FROM 07/16/2001): Bruce Eisenhower, City of Evans Manager, stated they met with the City of Greeley and there has been some substantial progress, and they anticipate most of the issues will be settled out of court. In response to Chair Geile, Mr. Eisenhower stated they are requesting the Board sign the petition for the annexation of portions of 37th Street and 65th Avenue. Roy Otto, City of Greeley Assistant Manager, stated the City of Greeley will not oppose this matter; however, they will be requesting the Board sign a petition of annexation of right-of-way adjacent to the Weideman property. David Calvin, property owner, stated he is in agreement with the resolution between the two cities. Chair Geile and Commissioner Jerke commended all parties involved for coming to a consensus. Commissioner Masden added he has been a mayor in the past and he understands the work involved in negotiations. He stated this appears to be a start to resolving larger issues in the future which will benefit this region. Commissioner Long complimented all parties involved, and added this may serve as a good model for conflict resolution in the future. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the Resolution. Commissioner Long seconded the motion,which carried unanimously. 2001-1929 BC0016 RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES: The resolutions were presented and signed as listed on the consent agenda. No Ordinances were approved. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
