area of Weld County , referred to as Evanston , regarding
mobile home setting .

Subject : Mobile Home Setting in Evanston , Colorado
Before I go any further I am going to introduce myself . My name
is Becky Marker and I have lived in Evanston since I was three
years old. I still live in the area , but now reside in
Firestone: I am currently the secretary for the Tri-Area
Planning Commission and for those of you who are not familiar
with this Commission I will try to explain briefly what the
function of this Commission is :
We are the liaison between the public and Weld County Planning
Services. These services including the Tri -Area Planning
Commission decide the future growth in this area along with the
comments and suggestions of the people in the Tri-Area . We
welcome anyone from the Tri -Area to participate by sitting in on
a meeting or in coming forth with suggestions as to how we could
make the community in which we live better.
I am sure that you , the people of Evanston have experienced at
one time or another the need for assistance or have even
wondered what your tax dollars are doing for Evanston . You
might at one time or another gone before Weld County Planning
Services with a particular request , be it a request for improve-
ment of property or otherwise . The final upshot is the
Commission is here to serve the community in which we live , so
that the community as a whole will have something to be proud of
and look forward to future growth .
Over the years there have been various people who have come
before the Tri -Area Planning Commission requesting mobile home
setting in the Evanston area. It is the feelings of the
Commission that Evanston is not designed for or designated as a
mobile home setting place . The Tri -Area has provided for mobile
home settings in three different places within the three towns ,
Evanston is not one of them. Many people of Evanston have
expressed the need to cease the setting of any future mobile
homes and have asked this Commission to take a good look at what
Evanston would look like if more mobile home settings are
allowed. This is where you , the people of Evanston come in. We
need you to voice your opinions on how you feel about this
issue . By signing this petition will show Weld County Planning
Services where we , the people of Evanston stand . We want to
show them that we have pride in our little area and want only
what is best for the people of Evanston.

This not the only issue , but I am sure you have seen times when
mother nature has decided to drop inches upon inches of snow in
this area and it is not the responsibility of Firestone ,
Frederick or Dacono to remove snow from Evanston , it is the
responsibility of Weld County . Have any of you people ever seen
Weld County come to remove snow in Evanston ? Have you ever
wondered what would happen should there be a serious emergency
and emergency equipment were unable to respond due to not being
able to get through all the snow? This is just one issue in my
mind when we cannot get Weld County to listen to Evanston . I ' m
sure if you had the time and I had enough paper, not only
myself , but others could come up with a list of times that we
have asked Weld County to listen to the people of Evanston . I
look through the Evanston area and can see what Weld County has
done for Evanston : : I see homes and know the people who take
pride in themselves and the community they live in.
People of Evanston stand up and fight , voice your opinions ,
write your county officials , your state senators , your town
officials and let them know how you feel about the area in which
you live , you worked hard for those tax dollars , let ' s see what
those tax dollars can do for Evanston , not for Weld County .
Let ' s start caring about Evanston and get Weld County to care
too.
