HomeMy WebLinkAbout20013429 RESOLUTION RE: APPOINT WELD COUNTY TREASURER WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, Mr. Arthur Willis, II, resigned the elected office of Weld County Treasurer effective November 1, 2001, such resignation constituting a vacancy as defined in Section 16-7(2) of the Weld County Home Rule Charter, and WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 3-15(2) and 6-3 of the Home Rule Charter, it is the duty of the Board of County Commissioners to appoint a successor to complete the term of the resigning elected officer, such appointee being of the same political party and said appointment being effective to and until the next general election, and WHEREAS, the Board has conducted interviews of various Republican candidates and has decided to appoint Mr. Donald D. Mueller to fill the vacancy, with such appointment being effective January 1, 2002, and continuing to and until the end of the current term of said elected office, December 31, 2002. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Board hereby appoints Mr. Donald D. Mueller as Weld County Treasurer, with such appointment being effective January 1, 2002, and continuing to and until the end of the current term of said elected office, December 31, 2002. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 17th day of December, A.D., 2001.
