RE: APPROVE LETTER REGARDING DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FOR
THE NOXIOUS WEED MANAGEMENT PLAN ON THE ARAPAHO AND ROOSEVELT
NATIONAL FORESTS AND PAWNEE NATIONAL GRASSLAND
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Forest Service has drafted an Environmental Assessment for
Noxious Weed Management Plan on the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee
National Grassland, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Board of Commissioners commend the U.S. National
Forest Service for understanding the need for noxious weed control on Forest Service Land and
completing said draft Environmental Assessment Noxious Weed Management Plan, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to draft a letter to the U.S.
National Forest Service expressing their appreciation and comments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the letter to the U.S. National Forest Service expressing the
appreciation and comments of the Weld County Board of Commissioners to the U.S. Forest
Service, be and hereby is approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 30th day of May, A.D., 2001.

Dear Ms.Marston:
The Board of Weld County Commissioners would like to commend the U.S.Forest Service for understanding the
need for noxious weed control on Forest Service Land and for completing the draft Environmental Assessment for
Noxious Weed Management Plan on the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland.
The Board of Weld County Commissioners submits the following comments for consideration concerning the
Environmental Assessment:
1. That the Noxious Weed Management Plan presented in Appendix A of the document be implemented by the
Forest Service.
2. That Alternative B -Implement a Coordinated Noxious Weed Management Plan with Associated Mitigative
measures be chosen by carrying out the Noxious Weed Management Plan.
3. That additional comments submitted by Weld County's Vegetation Management Specialist,Ron Broda,be
considered.
