RE : AUTHORIZATION OF WELD COUNTY TREASURER TO CLOSE OUT TRUST
FUND FOR CENTENNIAL BUILDING PLAZA CONTRIBUTIONS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statutes and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on March 27th, 1978, the Board of County Commissioners
established a trust fund for Centennial Building Plaza contri-
butions for a fountain, statue or sculpture, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, have received no further contributions to complete
the proposed project, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, deems it advisable and in the best interests of
Weld County to authorize the Weld County Treasurer to close
out the trust fund for Centennial Building Plaza contributions
and return the donations to the parties in the amount of their
donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners that Mike Loustalet, Weld County Treasurer, be
and hereby is authorized to close out the trust fund for
Centennial Building Plaza contributions and return the donations
to the parties in the amount of their donation.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly
made and seocnded, adopted by the following vote on the 30th
day of December, A.D. , 1981.

Dear Mr. Carlson: RE: Letter of December 15, 1981
In reference to your letter and the $1,000.00 I donated towards the
proposed fountain at the Centennial Complex Plaza.
I request that you return this donation to me as you suggested. I
plan to place said money in an interest bearing fund and at such time as
sufficient monies are donated for the proposed fountain I will make an
appropriate donation to said fund in a similar amount.

Dear Mr. Billings:
In March, 1978 , you donated $1, 000 to a trust fund to be used
for a fountain, statue, or sculpture in the Centennial Building
Plaza. In exploring this subject, the Board of County Commis-
sioners have determined that with the $1005 in the trust there
are insufficient funds to complete a project of this nature and
scope. Therefore, we are inquiring as to whether you wish to
request a refund of your contribution or to allow it to be used
for some other County function or donation, such as a library
donation or park fund.
The Board would appreciate a response to your preference prior
to December 31, 1981 in order to close the fund.
