The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, June 4, 2001, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Chair
Commissioner Glenn Vaad, Pro-Tem
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner David E. Long
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol A. Harding
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Long moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of May 30, 2001, as printed. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $34,749.39. Commissioner Masden moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR ADDITIONAL FAMILY SERVICES AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - COMPASS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEMS, LLC: Judy Griego,
Director of Social Services, stated this is a non-financial agreement for the term of July 1, 2001, through
June 30, 2002, and it provides alcohol and drug services to families, children, and adolescents who are
eligible due to imminent risk of out-of-home placement. The initial allocation is$99,6744.67. Responding
to Commissioner Vaad, Ms. Griego stated the allocation amount is Weld County's portion of a larger block
of funding. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign.
Seconded by Commissioner Long, the motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
