RE: AFFIRM GRIEVANCE BOARD DECISION OF JANUARY 17, 2001, REGARDING
DEBORAH MCCARTHY
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Weld County Code, the Board has received an appeal of
the Grievance Board decision of January 2, 2001, regarding Deborah McCarthy, and
WHEREAS, said appeal was received in a timely manner and was properly filed, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, having reviewed the Findings of fact
and decision of the Grievance Board, the request for an appeal from Ms. McCarthy, the
response to Ms. McCarthy's appeal of the findings of fact and decision of the Grievance Board
(memorandum brief submitted by the County Attorney's office), and the copy of the appeals
process from the Grievance Section of the Weld County Employee Personnel Policy Handbook,
deems it advisable to affirm the January 2, 2001, decision of the Grievance Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the Grievance Board decision of January 2, 2001, regarding
Deborah McCarthy was not wrong or in excess of the Grievance Board's jurisdiction, authority,
purposes, or limitations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the decision of the Grievance Board be,
and hereby is, affirmed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that, to maintain the confidentiality of this
Personnel Matter, the Clerk to the Board be, and hereby is, directed to return the above listed
documents to the Personnel Department.
