Re: Request an Improvement Project on WCR 13 between WCR 8 and 10
Dear Mr. Haley:
I am responding to your request for information regarding the potential for paving WCR 13 in
your vicinity due to increased traffic.
The Town of Dacono assumed jurisdiction of WCR 13 between WCR 6.5 and WCR 12 in a
series of annexations recorded on April 3, 1991. With the annexations, Dacono also acquired
responsibility for maintenance of future improvements to the road.
The County has no jurisdiction to make improvements to your road because it is within a Town
boundary. In fact, State Statutes prohibit the expenditure of County funds on any Town road.
We do understand your concerns regarding increased traffic. Many County gravel roads are
experiencing similar problems. We are making a copy of this letter available to the Town of
Dacono so they will also be aware of your concerns.
