RE: SITE SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND USE BY SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT#1276
FOR A SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL SITE (COMPOSTING FACILITY) IN THE A
(AGRICULTURAL) ZONE DISTRICT -JOHN MOSER
A public hearing was conducted on January 17, 2001, at 10:00 a.m., with the following present:
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Chair
Commissioner Glenn Vaad, Pro-Tem
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner David E. Long
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol Harding
Assistant County Attorney, Lee Morrison
Planning Department representative, Julie Chester
Health Department representative, Pam Smith
Public Works representative, Don Carroll
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a notice dated November 27, 2000, and duly published
November 30, 2001, in the South Weld Sun, a public hearing was conducted on December 13,
2000, to consider the request of John Moser for a Site Specific Development Plan and Use by
Special Review Permit #1276 for a Solid Waste Disposal Site (Composting Facility) in the
A (Agricultural) Zone District. At said hearing, the Board deemed it advisable to continue said
matter to January 17, 2001, to allow adequate time for the completion of the technical review from
the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Lee Morrison, Assistant County
Attorney, made this a matter of record. Julie Chester, Department of Planning Services, presented
a brief summary of the proposal and entered the favorable recommendation of the Planning
Commission into the record as written. She stated the Planning Commission continued this matter
to February 5, 2001, and explained the applicant has hired a new consultant to process the
application. Ms. Chester said the State Department of Pubic Health and Environment will complete
the technical review by the end of this week; therefore, a continuance to February 28, 2001, at
10:00 a.m. is recommended. Commissioner Vaad stated he will not be present that date, and Ms.
Chester indicated the applicant was informed of that absence and stated they would like to go
forward at that time.
No public testimony was offered concerning this matter.
Commissioner Long moved to continue the request of John Moser for a Site Specific Development
Plan and Use by Special Review Permit #1276 for a Solid Waste Disposal Site (Composting
Facility) in the A(Agricultural) Zone District, to February 28, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. The motion was
seconded by Commissioner Vaad, and it carried unanimously.
