Gandy, Keenesburg, CO, Tuesday, July 17, 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by President Dwaine Kurtz. Vice President Joyce Smock, Councilwoman Jody Malone, Councilman Mitchell Martin, and Councilman Douglas Rademacher were present, constituting a quorum of the members. Also present: Anita Kramer, Mr. Mark Cronquist and the Council secretary, Bev Thomas. REVIEW PROGRAM: Councilwoman Jody Malone introduced Mr. Mark Cronquist, Weld County 4-H Coordinator. Mr. Cronquist presented the Council a review program of information regarding: the Weld County Fair; the Weld County 4-H (head, heart, hands and health) program; and the financial and personnel relationship between the Weld County Extension Office and Weld County government. AGENDA ADDITIONS/APPROVAL: There were no additions to the agenda. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Councilman Douglas Rademacher made a motion to approve the June 19, 2001 meeting minutes. Vice President Joyce Smock seconded the motion and it carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Performance Review of Internal Controls at Weld County Treasurer's Office Vice President Joyce Smock reported the firm of Deloitte and Touche had finished its review of internal controls at the Weld County Treasurer's Office. She said the Weld County Council would not receive the report until Mr. Art Willis, Weld County Treasurer, adds his response to the report. NEW BUSINESS: Council's Second Quarter Report to the People Councilman Douglas Rademacher made a motion to approve the Council's Second Quarter Report to the People with this additional sentence: 09-05--ao0 2001-2512 Weld County Council Minutes July 17,2001 Page 2 of 2 The Council has appointed Deloitte and Touche to perform a review of the Weld County Treasurer's Office. The performance review will include internal controls, staffing, handling of receipts, deposits, disbursements and investments. Councilman Mitchell Martin seconded the motion. The report will be signed at the August 21, 2001 Council meeting. CORRESPONDENCE: Council members reviewed the correspondence. COORDINATOR REPORTS: Councilwoman Jody Malone reported on a July 26, 2001 meeting she had attended with County residents, Planning Department staff, and the Weld County Commissioners regarding the ongoing problems along Weld County Road. Vice President Joyce Smock related information from the July 9, 2001 Elected Officials' meeting. President Dwaine Kurtz told about the work of the Weld County Charter Review Committee. PAYMENT OF THE BILLS: Councilwoman Jody Malone made a motion to approve payment of the listed bills: Mileage for President Dwaine Kurtz $20.74 Meals for Council - President Dwaine Kurtz $45.09 Mileage for Vice President Joyce Smock $73.20 Mileage for Councilwoman Jody Malone $28.06 Mileage for Councilman Mitchell Martin $26.84 Mileage for Councilman Douglas Rademacher $34.16 Subscription to Johnstown Breeze $20.00 The motion was seconded and carried.
