RE: UNCLAIMED MONIES.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Treasurer and Director of Finance and Adminis-
tration have advised the Board that there are unclaimed monies being held in
the Trust Fund in the Treasurer's Office, and
WHEREAS, generally accepted accounting practices and audit principles
dictate that the disposition of such unclaimed monies is to deposit the monies
in the General Fund of the County, and
WHEREAS, it has been recommended to the Board of County Commissioners that,
in the case that the unclaimed monies are claimed by any individual or indivi-
duals, the Treasurer will notify the Director of Finance and Administration and
recommend to the Board of County Commissioners that the claim be honored and
a warrant be drawn against the General Fund, and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Administration and County Treasurer
recommend that it be the Board's policy that all future unclaimed monies in the
Treasurer's Office be deposited in the General Fund, and that any claims made
against those funds at a future date be paid out of the General Fund, if so
authorized by resolution of the Board of County Commissioners.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that unclaimed monies currently being held in the Trust
Fund in the Treasurer's Office be transferred to the General Fund, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any future unclaimed monies, identified as
such by the County Treasurer, be deposited in the General Fund, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that if a claim
is made by any individual or individuals against the County for those unclaimed
monies , that once the claim has been determined to be proper that the County
Treasurer recommend to the Board of County Commissioners that the claim be
honored and a warrant drawn against the General Fund, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that if the

-0 claim is in order and a proper claim against Weld County, that the Board of
County Commissioners will authorize a payment to be made for the claim out
of the General Fund, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners that the Direc-
tor of Finance and Administration and County Treasurer are hereby authorized to
make the appropriate transfer of unclaimed monies to the General Fund and the
necessary accounting transactions to accomplish the above, as soon as appro-
priate.
The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 9th day of June, A.D. , 1980.
