RE: SHOW CAUSE HEARING TO DETERMINE WHETHER GOOD CAUSE EXISTS
NOT TO RENEW TAVERN LIQUOR LICENSE - ROMANCE, INC., DBA CLUB
ROMANCE/LUCKY STAR
A public hearing was conducted on February 12, 2001, at 9:00 a.m., with the following
present:
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Chair
Commissioner Glenn Vaad, Pro-Tem
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner David E. Long
Commissioner Robert D. Masden
Also present:
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
County Attorney, Bruce Barker
The following business was transacted:
I hereby certify that pursuant to a resolution dated January 15, 2001,and duly mailed to the
applicant,a public hearing was conducted on February 12,2001,at 9:00 a.m.,to determine
whether good cause exists to renew the Tavern Liquor License for Romance, Inc.,dba Club
Romance/Lucky Star. Bruce Barker, County Attorney, made this a matter of record, and
stated the applicant has obtained new legal representation. Gene Ciancio and Chuck
Dickson will be representing the applicant; however, they have requested this matter be
continued due to schedule conflicts. Mr. Barker recommended this hearing be continued
to Wednesday, February 14, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. He stated the applicant has requested the
details of the proposed resolution and public testimony be presented on February 14,2001.
If the Board deems it is necessary to hear further testimony, he recommends the hearing
be set for February 21, 2001, at 9:00 a.m. In response to Chair Geile, Mr. Barker stated
it is necessary to have a hearing subsequent to the 14th to allow due process and if there
are public comments, they will have an opportunity to respond.
Commissioner Vaad moved to continue this matter to February 14, 2001, at 9:00 a.m.
Commissioner Jerke seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
