RE: APPROVE FOUR PURCHASE OF SERVICES AGREEMENTS WITH VARIOUS
SENIOR CENTERS FOR OPERATIONAL EXPENSES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO
SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with four Purchase of Services Agreements
for operational expenses between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human
Services, Area Agency on Aging, and various Senior Centers, as follows, with further terms and
conditions being as stated in said agreements, and
Nunn Senior Center- $3,000
Pierce Senior Center- $3,000
Hill 'N Park Senior Center- $3,000
Lochbuie Senior Center- $3,000
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said agreements,
copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the four Purchase of Services Agreements for operational
expenses between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, Area Agency
on Aging, and the various Senior Centers as listed above be, and hereby are, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said agreements.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 3rd day of September, A.D., 2003.

Purchase of Services Agreement
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this Pt day of July, 2003 by and between the County of Weld,
State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Weld
County Division of Human Services'Area Agency on Aging, hereinafter referred to as "AAA" and the Senior
Citizens of Nunn hereinafter referred to as "Nunn Seniors."
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, "AAA"develops and administers the Area Plan for a comprehensive and coordinated system of
services, and
WHEREAS, "AAA"considers small rural senior centers a vital link in the county's system of services to older
adults, and
WHEREAS, "Nunn Seniors" is a senior center providing recreational, nutritional, and educational opportunities
for senior citizens;
NOW THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed:
1. The "AAA"hereby agrees to award grant monies (under the Older Americans Act) in the sum of$3,000 to
"Nunn Seniors."
2. "Nunn Seniors" agree to expend the grant monies to pay for operating expenses for the center to include:
electricity, gas, telephone, insurance, office supplies, postage, and other operating expenses.
3. "Nunn Seniors"agree to maintain documentation of the above expenditures and to seek prior approval from
the Area Agency on Aging if it is needed to expend a portion of this grant on expenditures not listed in
number(2) above.

SUBJECT: Purchase of Services Agreement between the Division of
Human Services' Area Agency on Aging and
four rural Senior Centers
Enclosed for Board approval are Purchase of Service Agreements with four rural Senior Centers -
Nunn, Pierce, Hill N Park, and Lochbuie. Each of these centers faces financial hardship in terms
of keeping their centers open. The centers will utilize the grants to help pay for heat, lights,
telephone, supplies, water and other operational expenses. The following grants are to be
awarded:
*Nunn Senior Center - $3,000
*Pierce Senior Center- $3,000
*Hill N Park Senior Center- $3,000
*Lochbuie Senior Center- $3,000
