RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF VARIOUS WELD COUNTY ROADS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-410(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close
to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion
thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work
days for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such
road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an
alternative routing of the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS, the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and
personal investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to
temporarily close to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on said
County roads by posting signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
County roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of
such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide
traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall
conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 30 between Weld County
Roads 48 and 49 be temporarily closed on an emergency basis to repair a damaged culvert,
with said closure being effective until March 14, 2003, and further, that standard official traffic
control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 58 between Weld County
Roads 47.5 and 49.5 be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective March 24, 2003,
for approximately four working days for a culvert, and further, that standard official traffic control
devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 39 between Weld County Road
48.5 and the LaSalle city limits (East Taylor Avenue) be temporarily closed, with said closure
being effective March 24, 2003, for approximately one month, and further, that standard official
traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, does declare and establish that Weld County Road 39 between Weld County
Roads 44 and 46 be temporarily closed, with said closure being effective March 17, 2003, for
approximately four working days for a culvert replacement, and further, that standard official
traffic control devices shall be erected at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 17th day of March, A.D., 2003, nunc pro tunc March 14, 2003.

Emergency road closure:
On 3/8/2003, WCR 30 between WCR 43 and WCR 49 was closed due to a damaged

Road closures for the Public Works Department:
WCR 39 between WCR 48.5 and the LaSalle city limits (East Taylor Avenue) is
scheduled to be closed on 3/24/2003. It is expected to be closed until approximately April
21, 2003.
WCR 39 between WCR 44 and WCR 46 is scheduled to be closed on 3/17/2003 for a
culvert replacement. It is expected to be closed until 3/21/2003.
