We realize the importance of providing a product that has tremendous value and impact on your
citizens' daily lives. Cable television provides an excellent source of entertainment. Every year cable
programming receives more and more industry awards. If you were to compare our services to other
entertainment options—you will find that cable gives you a variety of choices with 30 days of movies,
sports, original programming and so much more.
As you are aware, sports programming continues to be a major contributor to rising cable television
costs. Sports programming, such as ESPN, accounts for approximately 33%of our total basic
programming bill. These escalating costs have a tremendous impact on the cable industry. Galaxy
Cablevision,as well as many other cable companies,will continue to address these issues in Washington
anticipating that a reasonable resolution can be found soon. Cox Communications has started a very
informative website,}vww.makethemplayfair.com,to enlighten the public of the high cost of sports
programming and the surrounding issues. We encourage you to visit this site if you get the opportunity.
In January,the basic rate in your community will change from$33.95 to $35.45, an increase of
$1.50. Simultaneously,Galaxy Cablevision will be improving the monthly programming guide currently
offered. The new guide features more channel listings and a 4-day programming grid. The monthly guide
is packed with entertainment information designed to maximize our customers viewing entertainment for
just$2.50 a month. Current guide subscribers will receive the new"The Channel Guide"in their mailbox
this January. If they are not currently subscribing to the guide,they can call today to order and stay up-to-
date on all of their entertainment options.
