Dear Ms. Lienhard:
Upon review of the calculations for the 2003 budget for Western Hills Fire Protection District, I
discovered that I incorrectly used a combination of amounts from 2002. The amount used was a
combination of Property Tax revenue for 2002 and the Abatement of Property Tax. This combination
produced the total of $227,081, which was used in the calculations for the 2003 budget, instead of the
correct amount of$222,279.
During our telephone conversation today, you explained that an order would be generated to require
Western Hills Fire Protection District to reduce our property tax levy for the 2004 budget year. You
explained this order will reduce our base for one year and the following year our base will be re-
calculated.
Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention, and providing the information to resolve it as well.
A copy of this letter will be sent to the Weld County Commissioners. If you have further questions,
