The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, July 21, 2003, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner David E. Long, Chair
Commissioner Robert D. Masden, Pro-Tem - EXCUSED
Commissioner M. J. Geile
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner Glenn Vaad - EXCUSED
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Carol A. Harding
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Jerke moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of July 16, 2003, as printed. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration,presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $28,005.40. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
COLORADO WORKS AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - ISLAND
GROVE REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTER:Judy Griego, Director of Social Services,stated the term of
this agreement is July 1,2003,through June 30,2004. She stated the reimbursement will be in an amount
not to exceed$15,000 for screening and assessments and an amount not to exceed$5,000 for alcohol and
drug education awareness for Colorado Works clients. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said
agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried
unanimously.

CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-
STILLWATER SERVICES,LLC:Ms.Griego stated the term of this agreement is also July 1,2003,through
June 30,2004. It will provide adolescent-focused anger management assessment and treatment services
for youth involved with the Youth In Conflict system. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreement
and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by
the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
