RE: APPROVE UTILITY RELOCATION COSTS FOR WELD COUNTY ROAD 3.25
PROJECT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - UNITED POWER, INC.
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the final design has been completed for paving of Weld County road 3.25 from
State Highway 52 to Weld County Road 16.5, and
WHEREAS,the new road geometry requires the relocation of several power poles owned
by United Power, Inc., and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a letter and invoice dated September 4,
2003, in the amount of$12,999, for the Utility Relocation Costs for the Weld County Road 3.25
Project from United Power, Inc., P. O. Box 929, Brighton, Colorado 80601, copies of which are
attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS,after review and upon recommendation of the Department of Public Works,the
Board deems it advisable to approve said costs.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,that the Utility Relocation Costs for the Weld County Road 3.25 Project as stated
in a letter and invoice dated September4,2003,in the amount of$12,999,from United Power, Inc.,
be, and hereby is, approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded,adopted by
the following vote on the 15th day of September, A.D., 2003.

COLORADO RE: United Power Relocation Costs for WCR 3.25 Road Project
The final design has been completed for the paving of WCR 3.25 from SH 52 to WCR 16.5. The new
road geometry requires the relocation of several power poles owned by United Power. The existing poles
are located in United Power's private easement; therefore, relocation costs would be Weld County's
responsibility.
United Power has submitted a relocation cost (see attached) for the amount of$12,999. They anticipate
the poles can be relocated in September of 2003. Our construction work is to begin in November of 2003.
I recommend that we approve the costs submitted by United Power to relocate their power poles on WCR
3.25.

SUBJECT: Relocate Poles on WCR 3.25—Work Order 2307-054
United Power has completed the design staking sheets to relocate poles on Weld County Road
3.25 between Highway 52 and Weld County Road 16.5. A copy of that design sheet is enclosed.
The estimated cost share for Weld County is $12,999. An invoice for that amount is enclosed for
payment on Work Order 2307-054.
I have asked our Operations Department to place this project on their September construction
schedule. You can contact Mike Bertke, our construction superintendent, at 303-637-1228 for an
approximate construction date.
