Dear Mr. Oliphant:
This letter is to acknowledge your email to the County Commissioners regarding general road
conditions in your area. As related in your October 6th phone conversation with Mel Everhart,
Motor Grader Supervisor, he drove WCR 6 between WCR 47 and WCR 49 and the adjacent area
to review road conditions.
Weld County normally has limited moisture and fine soils which results in the creation of a thin crust
driving surface of gravel. Care by the motor grader operators is taken to maintain the road without
cutting through this crust. Cutting through the crust creates more problems.
Mel Everhart will periodically check the roads in your area for quality maintenance.
Thank you for your concerns and comments. If you have any questions or need further assistance,
please call Mel Everhart, Motor Grader Supervisor, at (970)356-4000, Ext. 3750.
Sincerely,
7 OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

I'm guessing but if the roads in my part of weld are bad, they are[probably all bad.
Our grader down here needs to put the blade down and start grading again. He's just playing with the
machine now. Pushing the loose stuff around. Thats about it.
