RE: APPOINT EUGENE MC KENNA AS DIRECTOR OF THE WELD COUNTY
DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 503, effective June 9 , 1981,
directs the Board of County Commissioners to appoint a Director
of the Weld County Department of Social Services and exempts
said director from the State of Colorado merit system, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has by Resolu-
tion dated August 5, 1981, placed said director' s position
under the County personnel and compensation policies, and
WHEREAS , Eugene McKenna has held the position of Weld
County Department of Social Services director for 13 years
and the Board of County Commissioners feels he is a qualified
person to fill said position, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the addition of the Director of
Social Services into the county personnel policy, Mr. McKenna
shall enter said system with the following terms and conditions :
A: Salary - 1981 compensation $35, 895
B: Sick Leave - Pay off i of the 239 3/4 days of
sick leave presently accrued by Mr. McKenna
under the merit system
C : Vacation - Carry over 27 days and pay off
22 days of the 49 days presently accrued
by McKenna under the merit system and has
until June 29, 1982 to utilize the 27 days
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that Eugene McKenna
be, and hereby is, appointed Director of the Weld County Depart-
ment of Social Services, effective June 9 , 1981 to serve at
the pleasure of the Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the above stated terms and conditions regarding salary,
sick leave and vacation time for the Weld County Department
of Social Services Director, Eugene McKenna, be and hereby is,
adopted.

made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 5th
day of August, A.D. , 1981.
