The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, December 1, 2003, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner David E. Long, Chair
Commissioner Robert D. Masden, Pro-Tem
Commissioner M. J. Geile
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
Assistant County Attorney, Lee Morrison
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Geile moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of November 26, 2003, as printed. Commissioner Masden seconded the motion, and it carried
unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, stated there are no warrants to
present.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER 24 CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENTS FOR RESPITE CARE SERVICES WITH VARIOUS
PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN:Judy Griego, Director of Department of Social Services,
stated the term of these agreements is from November 1,2003,through June 30,2004. She stated respite
care will be for foster care children under the care of County Certified Foster Care providers. She further
stated for these services the Department of Social Services agrees to reimburse the various providers at
a rate of$16.75 per each four-hour period,not to exceed$67.00 per month for 16 hours of respite care per
child. CommissionerJerke moved to approve said agreements and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded
by Commissioner Masden, the motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by
the Acting Clerk to the Board.
