RE: GRANT REQUEST OF THE GREELEY OKTOBERFEST FOR USE OF THE
LIVESTOCK BUILDING AND WAIVER OF RENTAL FEE FOR THE SAME
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, has received a request from the Greeley Oktoberfest
for use of the Livestock Building for their annual festival
to be held all day on October 3 , 1981, and have also requested
that the rental fee for use of the building be waived, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners desires to
grant said request for use of the Livestock Building and also
desires to grant the request for waiver of the rental fee for
the same. However, the expenses for security services and
janitorial services shall be paid by Greeley Oktoberfest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado that the request of
Greeley Oktoberfest for the use of the Livestock Building on
October 3, 1981 be, and hereby is, granted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
that the rental fee for use of the Livestock Building by
Greeley Oktoberfest be, and hereby is, waived. However, the
expenses for security services and janitorial services shall
be paid by the Greeley Oktoberfest.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly
made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 10th
day of June, A.D. , 1981.

Dear Commissioner Steinmark and the Board:
Firstly, T would like to introduce myself to you as the Director
of the Greeley Oktoberfest; a position which has been created by
Professor Frank Keppeler and myself. Since the task of management
fell upon a new student every year, my position will be helpful to
that we will know who to deal with from year to year.
The past success of the Greeley Oktoberfest is due largely to
the effort of the UNC Foreign Language Department to keep the event
a communi ty one. But at the heart of this 13--year-old Greeley
tradi tionare the many contributions in goods and services from the
business community. The many scholarships that have been awarded
would not have been pos:Able If it hadn't been for these donations.
I'm wr”..ing to request a waiver of the rental fee on the
Livestock Pavilion at Island Grove Park, as it was waived last year
when the county put the rental schedule into effect.
I believe you'll agree with me that we provide a worthwhile
festivity for the community and in turn the profits go for a good
cause. I look forward to hearing from you
