The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, May 28, 2003, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner David E. Long, Chair
Commissioner Robert D. Masden, Pro-Tem
Commissioner M. J. Geile
Commissioner William H. Jerke
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
Assistant County Attorney, Cyndy Giauque
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Masden moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of May 21, 2003, as printed. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $53,333.10. Commissioner Masden moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Jerke seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER AMENDMENT TO CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE
CHAIR TO SIGN - NORTH RANGE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: Judy Griego, Director of Department of
Social Services, stated under this amendment the funding will be increased from $80,544 to$97,544,with
the same hourly rate of $83.20. Ms. Griego stated North Range Behavioral Health will provide
psychological evaluations and assessment services, consultation services, and court testimony.
Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said amendment and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by
Commissioner Jerke, the motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-
NORTH RANGE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: Ms. Griego stated this is a new agreement, subsequent to the
previous item of business, with a term beginning June 1, 2003, and ending May 31, 2004. She stated
North Range Behavioral Health will provide psychological evaluations and assessment services,
consultation services, and court testimony, at an hourly rate of $83.20, up to a maximum of $97,544.
Commissioner Masden moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. The motion,
which was seconded by Commissioner Geile, carried unanimously.

CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION INTRA-GOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN -WELD COUNTY DIVISION OF HUMAN SERVICES: Ms. Griego stated
the term of this agreement is from June 1, 2003, through May 31, 2004, and the Department of Social
Services will reimburse the Department of Human Services' part-time workers at a rate of$18.10 per hour,
plus mileage. She further stated the part-time workers will assist in performing court-ordered visitation
services. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. The
motion was seconded by Commissioner Vaad, and it carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:10 a.m.
