Hempen, Jr., P.E., Director of Public Works/County Engineer voltFrom: Wayne Howard, P.E., Project Manager COLORADO RE: Stop Sign Request—WCR 35 and WCR 40 As part of the WCR 39 and WCR 40 project, County crews have been doing additional signing on other roadways that are being used for the detour routes. For the construction signing of the WCR 39 project, we have placed a stopped condition for WCR 40 vehicles as it intersects WCR 35. A request was received from the local resident that we make the stopped condition permanent. I made a site visit to review the intersection for conditions that might warrant the stopped condition. The intersection does have sight restrictions that could cause problems. Furthermore, by having the stop signs in place for several weeks and then removing them could create a potential hazardous situation. Based upon the above information, I recommend that the temporary stop signs be left as a permanent installation. Stop Ahead signs will be required prior to the stopped condition. VAA Hello
