Between the hours of 1 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on the nights that the dance is held at
the Maravilla Restaurant, anticipated to be Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, I will
have the traffic directed away from entering Hwy 85 at WCR 16 to WCR 14 and Hwy 85
so that traffic will enter the Highway at the signal light.
I propose to close the right lane of westbound traffic on WCR16 at the stop sign at
Denver Ave. and will have the security guards direct the traffic south on Denver Ave. to
WCR 14. The security guards will use a security car with lights and a barricade west of
WCR 16 to prevent traffic from entering Why 85.
The traffic entering WCR 16 from Hwy 85 will not be stopped or impeded
and will have the right of way over the traffic we are directing. We will have security
guards at the exit of our lot with a stop sign to allow the Hwy 85 traffic to have the right
of way and maintain an even flow of traffic leaving our lot.
The security guards will all have radios and will be in communication with each
other. They will have the barricades and cars set up before 1 a.m. and will be ready at I
a.m. to begin traffic direction. We will also encourage people to leave before closing
so that we gradual exit rather than everyone leaving at once.
We will put signs inside the restaurant to educate our customers on how the traffic
flow will work so that they will understand before leaving which direction they need to
go. I will also include this traffic direction as part of the announcements made during the
dance. We will also ask them for patience and cooperation. We expect to have repeat
customers who will be able to make the exit from the parking lot smoothly as they
become accustomed to it. We will also have a continuous-play tape shown on TV
monitor in the entry way of the restaurant so we can visually educate the customers.
We want our customers and the other users of the roadway to have a safe driving
experience. We will also have a Designated Driver program and will make
announcements during the dances to let people know we will call a taxi for everyone
requesting one.
