HomeMy WebLinkAbout20031556.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF SOCIAL SERVICES WELD COUNTY, COLORADO JUNE 18, 2003 TAPE #2003-22 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, June 18, 2003, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner David E. Long, Chair Commissioner Robert D. Masden, Pro-Tem Commissioner M. J. Geile Commissioner William H. Jerke Commissioner Glenn Vaad Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Masden moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting of June 16, 2003, as printed. Commissioner Jerke seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval by the Board in the amount of $17,726.21. Commissioner Masden moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Jerke seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN- SIGNAL BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NETWORK: Judy Griego, Director of Department of Social Services, stated the term of this agreement is from June 1, 2003, through May 31, 2004, and the source of funding is Core Services. Ms. Griego stated Signal Behavioral Health Network,through the Island Grove Regional Treatment Center, agrees to provide alcohol and drug testing and treatment of adults and adolescents under the child welfare system. For these services,the Department of Social Services agrees to reimburse Signal a maximum of$52,398, including a ten percent administrative fee of$5,239.80, according to the service and fee schedule provided by Signal. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said agreement and authorize the Chair to sign. Seconded by Commissioner Jerke, the motion, carried unanimously. 2003-1556 BC0016 CONSIDER FIVE AGREEMENTS TO PURCHASE CHILD PLACEMENT AGENCY SERVICES WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego stated the term of these agreements is from July 1, 2003, through June 30, 2004. She stated the Department of Social Services agrees to reimburse the various providers at rates including room, board, and treatment services. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve said agreements and authorize the Chair to sign. The motion, which was seconded by Commissioner Masden, carried unanimously. CONSIDER 15 AGREEMENTS TO PURCHASE RESIDENTIAL CHILD CARE FACILITIES (RCCF) SERVICES WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN:Ms.Griego stated the term of these agreements is from July 1, 2003, through June 30, 2004. She stated the Department of Social Services agrees to reimburse the various providers at rates that include room, board and treatment. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said agreements and authorize the Chair to sign. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Vaad, and it carried unanimously. CONSIDER 15 AGREEMENTS TO PURCHASE RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT CENTER SERVICES WITH VARIOUS PROVIDERS AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Ms. Griego stated the term of these agreements is from July 1, 2003, through June 30, 2004. She stated the Department of Social Services agrees to reimburse the various providers at rates including room and board, but excluding Medicaid treatment costs. In response to Commissioner Vaad, Ms. Griego stated there are approximately 15 additional vendors for residential treatment center services, which will be presented at a future board meeting. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve said agreements and authorize the Chair to sign. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
