RESOLUTION
RE: AUTHORIZATION FOR THE WELD COUNTY TREASURER TO CANCEL CERTAIN
COUNTY TAX LIEN SALE CERTIFICATES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Claud W. Hanes, Treasurer of Weld County, has requested authorization to
cancel County Tax Lien Sale Certificates Numbers 196/90, 1128/89, 843/97, and 560/98, with
descriptions of said certificates and the properties they encumber being set forth in four
separate letters from Mr. Hanes to the Board of County Commissioners, all dated January 8,
2003, which are attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to cancel said
County Tax Lien Sale Certificates as requested by the Weld County Treasurer, pursuant to
Section 39-10-114, C.R.S.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that County Tax Lien Sale Certificates Numbers 196/90, 1128/89,
843/97, and 560/98, be, and hereby are, canceled.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 22nd day of January, A.D., 2003.

On NOVEMBER 8, 1990 Tax Lien Sale Certificate 196/90 was sold to PAUL C ROADS for the
following property:
PARCEL #131130221015
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: FIR 20568-E W2 L27 BLK17 SITUS: FIRESTONE
I am hereby asking for TS CERT 196/90 to be canceled because of a second tax lien sale
certificate of purchase was sold on NOVEMBER 4, 1999 to JOHN LOFTUS. JOHN LOFTUS
made application for a Treasurer's Deed to the property and at that time PAUL C ROADS was
notified and given the opportunity to endorse all subsequent taxes onto his certificate and make
application for a Treasurer's Deed himself. PAUL C ROADS chose not to take any action. The
Treasurer's Deed was issued JANUARY 6, 2003 to JOHN LOFTUS. This created the need of a
resolution by the Board of County Commissioners to cancel TS CERT 196/90.
No authorization of refundt PAUL C ROADS due to the circumstances described above.

for the following property:

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: LAS 9C-OL-A OUTLOT 'A' CONNELLS 9TH ADD
I am hereby asking for TS CERT 560/98 to be canceled because of a second tax lien sale
certificate of purchase was sold on NOVEMBER 4, 1999 to WELD COUNTY. WELD
COUNTY assigned TS CERT 731/99 to PATRIARCH DEVELOPMENT LLC on AUGUST 22,
2002. PATRIARCH DEVELOPMENT LLC made application for a Treasurer's Deed to the
property and at that time RICHARD D CARLSON was notified and given the opportunity to
endorse all subsequent taxes onto his certificate and make application for a Treasurer's Deed
himself. RICHARD D CARLSON chose not to take any action. The Treasurer's Deed was
issued DECEMBER 30, 2002 to PATRIARCH DEVELOPMENT LLC. This created the need of
a resolution by the Board of County Commissioners to cancel TS CERT 560/98.
No authorization of refund to RICHARD D CARLSON due to the circumstances described
above.
