O.Box 758 Greeley, Colorado 80632 c COLORADO April 25, 2003 Frank P. Hirt 7796 Harold Ft. Lupton, CO 80621 Dear Mr. Hirt: Thank you for your letter of March 21,2003, stating your concerns on the Aristocrat Subdivision snow plowing and _ road maintenance. Weld County has an established order to plow roads after a snow storm. An emergency involving human life is high priority and subsequent routes follow: 1) Emergencies involving human life and safety 2.) National Defense 3) Essential dairy-livestock access roads 4) Main arterial roads 5) School bus routes 6) Mail delivery routes 7) Subdivisions and collector roads Subdivision roads are not plowed until the main roadways are cleared. The roads in Atristocrat Ranchettes are considered subdivision roads. The County crews work 12-hour shifts and make every effort to clear snow as early as possible to accommodate the traveling public. We have reviewed your concern on road maintenance. East/west roads are graded with the same priority as the north/south roads. Routine road maintenance for your area is scheduled for every third week. Your subdivision will be considered for road base this year's gravel plan. Please call Mel Everhart, Motor Grader Supervisor, at the number above for additional concerns. Sincerely, BO OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Ccs? David E. Long, Chair pc: Frank B. Hirt 7796 Harold Aristocrat Ranchettes Fort Lupton, Colo. 80621 303-857-2651 To: The County Commissioners Southern Weld County To Concerned Parties: I am writing to voice my displeasure with the way we are being treated here in Aristocrat Ranchettes. There are alot of people who live out here now, (roughly around 2500 people), and we are still treated by the county like we have the plague. There are people who live out here that are on oxygen and need to be able to be "serviced" as needed but my main complaint is NEVER seeing a snow plow after any Major Storm, Weld County's assistance in a Major "clean-up" of alot of the properties out here as alot of us want our homes respectable looking. When a road grader does come out to grade the roads they concentrate on the North/South roads The East/West roads are the ones that "wash-board out" the quickest. These interior roads need built up with roadbase and rolled-in(packed down). We are among the "forgotten" homesites, even though you have your county sheds on Rd 31 between Rd 16 and Rd 18. Weld County has no qualms on raising our taxes every other year but we see no increase in any county services. We seem to be always the "last ones" to receive any kind of assistance as a snow plow after major storms and etc.etc.etc.. We have lived out here for 25 years now and things definitely have changed over the years. Better homes are being put in and people are taking better care of their land than they did before. All we are asking is for some consideration for "services" as we are not just one or two houses out here anymore. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respect lly Frank P.
