RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC DURING THE TEMPORARY
CLOSURE OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 44 BETWEEN WELD COUNTY ROADS 37
AND 43; AND WELD COUNTY ROAD 39 BETWEEN WELD COUNTY ROADS 42
AND 46 FOR FIVE WEEKS, FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 42-4-410(6)(a), C.R.S.:
"...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the
purpose of road construction and maintenance,temporarily close to
through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highwayor portion thereof
fora period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project
completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure
establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of
the traffic affected...", and
WHEREAS,the Board, pursuant to said statute and upon the basis of traffic and personal
investigations, has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to temporarily close
to through traffic and to regulate,warn and guide vehicular traffic on said County roads by posting
signs thereon.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County,Colorado,deems it necessaryto regulate,warn and guide vehiculartraffic on County roads
and any intersections thereof,and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control
devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the
safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual
on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado,does declare and establish that Weld County Road 44 between Weld County Roads 37
and 43 be temporarily closed,with said closure being effective July21,2003,for approximately five
weeks for road construction,and further,that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected
at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado,does declare and establish that Weld County Road 39 between Weld County Roads 42
and 46 be temporarily closed,with said closure being effective July 21,2003,for approximately five
weeks for road construction,and further,that standard official traffic control devices shall be erected
at said closure giving notice of the restrictions.

the following vote on the 14th day of July, A.D., 2003.

Please submit the enclosed items for the Board's approval:
Road Closures: WCR 44 between WCR 37 and WCR 43
and
WCR 39 between WCR 42 and WCR 46
Both will be closed on 7/21/2003 for approximately five weeks for the construction at the
intersection of WCR 39 and WCR 44.
The appropriate documentation is enclosed
