RE: Weld County Road (WCR) 36 between WCR 31 and WCR 33
Dear Ms. Herrman:
Thank you for your letter of January 31, 2003.
Canada thistle is a designated noxious weed in Weld County and the county sprays county
roadsides and other county property for controlling the thistle. We also aggressively try to
educate county landowners by holding multiple meetings each year and bi-weekly radio
broadcasts. We also seek compliance from landowners who have thistle and are not carrying
out some control program. If you have a complaint regarding a specific land owner, please call
Ron Broda, Weed Division Supervisor, at (970)356-4000. Ext 3770.
The referenced roadway segment is now being maintained in a manner to control fugitive dust. •
The Public Works staff treats fugitive dust roadway surfaces twice yearly. Potholes may occur
between treatments and interim repair work is accomplished when moisture is present or can
be supplied with water trucks. By the time you receive this letter, repair work should have been
completed on your road.
Please call the Public Works Department at (970)356-4000, Ext. 3750, if you have any
questions or need further information.
Very truly yours,
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Dear Glen:
` cD
I have a couple of questions that I need answers to and
one item that I would like to have your comments on.
First , what is Weld County ' s policy on noxious weeds .
I am talking about Canadian Thistles .
Can you help us get County Rd 36 paved between Roads
31 and 33? Maybe I better settle for grading .
Last , on the corner of County Road 32 and 36 somebody
moved in a trailer house which has no electricity out-
side of a small generator . For heat he uses a number of
space heaters . There are no steps into the trailer
house , which we were told when we built our house is a
big "No No" and we could not occupy the house until the
steps were in place . He seems to have set up a rock
business of some kind . Is this zoned as such? All in all
the place is a real eyesore , not to mention that with the
conditions described above , an accident waiting to happen.
Could the County bring pressure on him to clean it up?
Let me hear from you. Thanks .ou YJC_i%e s very truly ,
