RE: APPROVE EXPENDITURE AUTHORIZATION MODIFICATION REQUEST FOR 25%
WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT (WIA) DISLOCATED WORKER FUNDS AND
AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with an Expenditure Authorization Modification
Request for 25% Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Dislocated Worker Funds from the County of
Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on
behalf of the Department of Human Services, Employment Services of Weld County, to the
Colorado Department of Labor and Employment commencing May 1, 2003, and ending June 30,
2004, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said modification request, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said modification
request, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that the Expenditure Authorization Modification Request for 25% Workforce
Investment Act (WIA) Dislocated Worker Funds from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by
and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of
Human Services, Employment Services of Weld County, to the Colorado Department of Labor and
Employment be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized to
sign said modification request.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 5th day of May, A.D., 2003, nunc pro tuns May 1, 2003.

1. MODIFICATION(S) REQUESTED(Narrative):
Employment Services of Weld County will use the award of$28,316.00 of PY02 WIA 25%
Enhanced Dislocated Worker Funding to provide core, intensive,and training services to
dislocated workers registered in the WIA Program. The goal of the program is to provide
participants with the appropriate mix of services they require to assist them in obtaining and
retaining employment
II. REVISED GOALS AND OBJECTIVES,OUTCOMES, ETC.
Employment Services of Weld County does not intend to serve additional individuals under this
proposal. Core, intensive,and training services will be provided as necessary to the number of
individuals identified in the Weld County plan.
III.. RATIONALE FOR MODIFICATION(S):
This modification is being requested to add the additional allocation of PY 02 WIA 25% Enhanced
Dislocated Worker funds identified in Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, Notice of
Fund Availability#02-09 dated May 1, 2003

COLORADO SUBJECT: Workforce Investment Act Plan Modification
Enclosed for Board approval is a Workforce Investment Act Plan Modification Request. This modification
requests an increase to the PY 02 W IA 25% Dislocated Worker Program in the amount of$28,316.00.
This is a result of an increase in the formula allocation from the Colorado Department of Labor and
Employment. Funds will be utilized to continue the delivery of core, intensive, and training services to
citizens of Weld County who have lost their job due to lay off or plant closure.
