RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES
AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN - ISLAND GROVE REGIONAL TREATMENT
CENTER, INC.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with an Amendment to the Child Protection
Agreement for Services between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social
Services, and Island Grove Regional Treatment Center, Inc., commencing upon full execution
of said amendment, and ending May 31, 2003, with further terms and conditions being as
stated in said amendment, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said amendment, a
copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services, that the Amendment to the Child
Protection Agreement for Services between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and
through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of
Social Services, and Island Grove Regional Treatment Center, Inc., be, and hereby is,
approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said amendment.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 12th day of March, A.D., 2003.

AMENDMENT TO CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES
BETWEEN THE WELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES AND ISLAND GR
REGIONAL TREATMENT CENTER,INC.
THIS Amendment, made and entered into the./11tday of March,2003,by and between the Board of County `6
Commissioner,Weld County, on behalf of the Weld County Department of Social Services,hereinafter referred to as
"Social Services," and Island Grove Regional Treatment Center,Inc.,referred to as"Island Grove". 00
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS,the parties desire to modify their current Agreement(PY02/03-CPS-30)in order to increase its
funding;and
WHEREAS,the authority exists in the Family and Children's Programs and Child Welfare Services have been
budgeted,appropriated,and otherwise made available; and
WHEREAS,required approval,clearance,and coordination have been accomplished from and with appropriate
agencies.
NOW THEREFORE,in consideration of the premises,the parties hereto covenant and agree as follows:
Exhibit B,Payment Schedule,
1. Funding and Method of Payment will be revised as follows:
Social Services agrees to reimburse to Island Grove in consideration for the work and services performed,
a total amount not to exceed Three Hundred-Twenty Thousand dollars($320,000)under Fund Code 1889
and Object Code 104. Of this total amount, Social Services agrees to pay an administrative fee not to
exceed Thirty-Two Thousand dollars($32,000)or 10%of the total amount authorized in this Agreement.
Except as modified herein,the terms and conditions of the Original Agreement,together with all attachments of
the Original Agreement,remain in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHERE ereto have duly executed the Modification as the day,month,and
year first above 'tten.

RE: Amendment to Child Protection Agreement for Services Between
Weld County Department of Social Services and Island Grove
Regional Treatment Center, Inc.
Enclosed for Board approval is an Amendment to Child Protection Agreement for
Services between the Weld County Department of Social Services and the Island Grove
Regional Treatment Center, Inc. The Amendment was discussed and reviewed at the
Board's Work Session of March 3, 2003.
The purpose of the Amendment is to increase funding from $122,398 to $320,000 from
Core Services/Child Welfare funding. The increased number of Court-mandated
evaluations and testing will require this additional funding.
All other provisions of the Original Agreement will remain the same. The term of the
Agreement will end on May 31, 2003.
