HomeMy WebLinkAbout20043384.tiff Minutes ?T. ; '; . 17 PU 2: ?'1 WELD COUNTY COUNCIL October 19, 2004 =f_ Tape 10A-2004 The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County Home Rule Charter, Tuesday October 19, 2004, 6:30 p.m., at Weld County Centennial Center, 915 10th Street, Greeley, CO. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by Vice President Chip Marks. Councilman Dwaine Kurtz and Councilman Mitchell Martin were present constituting a quorum of the members. Councilman Will Sander arrived at 7:26 p.m. President Douglas Rademacher was excused. Also present: Representative Dale Hall and the Council secretary, Bev Thomas. AGENDA ADDITIONS/APPROVAL: The agenda was approved as printed. REVIEW PROGRAM: District 48 State Representative Dale Hall presented a summary of the legislature's activity during its last session. He outlined the 2005 Legislative Session's focus on cutting 263 million dollars from the state budget. Representative Hall also discussed options being considered to deal with the state's budget crisis. He suggested to the Council the possibility of altering term limits beginning at the local level. After a two-minute recess the meeting was resumed. APPROVAL OF DOCUMENTATION: September 21, 2004 Council Meeting Minutes Councilman Dwaine Kurtz made a motion to approve the September 21, 2004 Council meeting minutes. The motion was seconded and carried. 2004 Third Quarter Report to the People Councilman Mitchell Martin made a motion to approve the 2004 Third Quarter Report to the People. The motion was seconded and carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Research RE: Changes to Home Rule Charter Councilman Dwaine Kurtz will report on this at a future meeting. CORRESPONDENCE: The Council reviewed the correspondence. 2004-3384 Weld County Council Minutes October 19,2004 Page 2 of 2 COORDINATOR REPORTS: County residents who have been impacted by the Clean Water Act assessment have contacted Councilman Dwaine Kurtz. PAY BILLS: Councilman William Sander made a motion to approve the listed bills: Mileage for Councilman Chip Marks $29.82 Mileage for Councilman Mitchell Martin $22.72 The motion was seconded and carried. CLOSING REMARKS: Council staff was instructed to invite newly-elected County Council members to the Council's November meeting following the November 2 election.
