RE: ACCEPT WELD COUNTY ROAD 49 ARTERIAL CORRIDOR STUDY, WITH
ALTERNATIVE ALIGNMENTS, INCLUDING WELD COUNTY ROAD 47, TO BE USED
BY WELD COUNTY FOR FUTURE TRANSPORTATION PLANNING
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, transportation plans in Weld County have consistently identified a need for
additional north-south arterial roadways east of the City of Greeley for future transportation
needs, and
WHEREAS, previously, the Board of County Commissioners commissioned a study to
address the creation of an arterial corridor for Weld County Road 49, and
WHEREAS, the "Weld County Road 49 Arterial Corridor Study," dated October, 2004,
identifies and recommends the arterial corridor for Weld County Road 49, with a number of
alternative alignments, including Weld County Road 47, and
WHEREAS, accepting the study and its recommendations will allow Weld County to
preserve needed rights-of-way for the recommended arterial corridor, Weld County Road 47, so
as to allow construction when the arterial is needed, and allows for implementation in an orderly
fashion with the goal of minimizing impacts to adjacent properties in the future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the "Weld County Road 49 Arterial Corridor Study," dated
November 8, 2004, and the arterial corridor and alternative alignments recommended therein,
including Weld County Road 47, be, and hereby are, accepted to be used by Weld County for
future transportation planning.

The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 22nd day of November, A.D., 2004.
