I think that the answers are now more accurate and complete. I contacted the Colorado Division of Water Resources and spoke with Joel. He verbally told me that if we are not having customers coming to our home and if we only have an in home office, we should not need a commercial well permit. However, they would not give this information in writing without a written request from us. He also explained that the designation of commercial vs. residential well is made on a case by case basis and could take as long as four weeks. I am sending them a letter requesting they review our case and make a designation as to whether we need a commercial well permit. I hope this information is enough to continue moving forward on this permit. I will make sure you get a copy of the Division of Water Resources determination when it is received. Thank you so much for all of your help. As you know, we will be out of town next week. I'll check in with you on Monday, October 8, to see if you have any other questions. In C'. We will not see customers at our residence nor will any of the actual work take place on our property. However, we will employ a part time bookkeeper that will work out of this office approximately 24 hours a week. During our building permit process, the Weld County planner suggested that because of our home office we may be required to have a commercial well permit. We are requesting that your office make a determination as to our permit status, commercial or residential, based on the above information and return it to us in writing. After reviewing all of the"hoops" to jump through and regulations to comply with, we've decided that she can easily do our work at her own home and can transmit information by intemet connection or by simply dropping off work once a week or so. Therefore, we would like to revise our request with regard to the above permit to be for a residence with an in-home business run exclusively by my husband and I. I thank you for all of your help. We really just want to build our home, get our children out of the metro area and start living in Weld County.
