Colorado Interstate Gas (CIG), a subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, is an interstate transporter of natural
gas supplies. Because part of our transmission system passes through your municipality, we have
enclosed a map showing the approximate location of operations in your area.
CIG is a leader in safety and compliance and dedicates thousands of hours monthly to maintaining a safe
and reliable pipeline system. Some of the safety measures we have established include using high-
strength pipeline, implementing corrosion protection techniques, and performing routine testing and
inspection. Our gas control office electronically monitors the pipeline system 24 hours a day.
We also have an extensive program in place to ensure the public knows about our pipeline and can assist
us in keeping our pipeline operation as safe as possible. We work with local construction companies,
landowners, and emergency responders, providing them with important information about emergency
procedures. We also identify the location of our pipelines with markers, flags, and signs that provide
information about who to call in the event of an emergency.
in order to prevent damage to the pipeline and to maintain a reliable pipeline system, we ask that you
contact your state One Call Center at (800) 922-1987 prior to construction or excavation along the right-
of-way. One Call will contact us, and a company representative will be sent to identify pipelines in the
vicinity at no cost to you.
