HomeMy WebLinkAbout20043502.tiff 9j EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 232 IN THE MATTER OF SETTING THE MILL LEVY FOR THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION FOR WELD COUNTY, COLORADO, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF WELD, STATE OF COLORADO: WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Weld,State of Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter,is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, it is necessary, by Colorado statute and by the Weld County Home Rule Charter, to set the mill levy for the annual appropriation for Weld County Colorado for Fiscal Year 2005, and WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, adopted the annual budget in accordance with the Local Government Budget Law,on December 15,2004,and WHEREAS,the amount of money necessary to balance the budget for County funds is as follows: FUND AMOUNT County General Fund $ 41,593,093 Public Works Fund 5,987,855 Social Services Fund 5,300,000 Contingent Fund 1,600,000 Capital Expenditures 4,450,000 IGS - Insurance Fund 750,000 $ 59,680,948 WHEREAS,the 2004 valuation for assessment for the County of Weld as certified by the County Assessor is $2,990,463,330 for Budget Year 2005. 111111111111111111111111101 III 1111111 III 11111 III! C/111 tS r..L, 7. , ra 4 /a 27-oci RE: ORDINANCE NO. 232 - SET MILL LEVY, 2005 PAGE 2 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County Commissioners in and for the County of Weld, State of Colorado, that for the purpose of meeting all legal expenses under Sections 29-1-301 through 29-1-305,C.R.S.,Section 14-7 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter, there is hereby levied the following mills upon each dollar of the total valuation for assessment of all taxable property within the County for Fiscal Year 2005: FUND MILLS REVENUE County General Fund 13.909 $ 41,593,093 Public Works Fund 2.002 5,987,855 Social Services Fund 1.772 5,300,000 Contingent Fund 0.535 1,600,000 Capital Expenditures Fund 1.488 4,450,000 IGS - Insurance Fund 0.251 750,000 19.957 $ 59,680,948 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Board that the County Assessor and the County Treasurer of Weld County, Colorado, be, and hereby are, authorized and directed to make such entries upon their books, at such time or times as will be necessary to make this Mill Levy Ordinance effective for the annual appropriation for Weld County, Colorado,for Fiscal Year 2005. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Board that an emergency exists inasmuch as State law requires that the mill levy of Weld County, Colorado, be enacted on or before the 15th day of December, 2004,therefore,this Ordinance is declared to be an Emergency Ordinance under the provisions of Section 3-14 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED by the Board, if any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this Ordinance is for any reason held or decided to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof.
