The noxious weeds present on the property are Canada thistle(Cirsium arvense)and must thistle(Carduus nutans). Because these weeds are nearing bloom stage, they must be controlled and kept from going to seed. Presently, the best methods of control are: 1)to mow as necessary throughout the year to keep the weeds from going to seed(3-5 times)and then spray with herbicides in the fall,2)to mow throughout the season to keep the plants from going to seed,3)to spray with herbicides up to the early flower stage. Section 35-5.5-109,C.R.S.and Weld County Code,Chapter 15,requires you to control the weeds by using at least one of these methods by July 17th or submit an acceptable weed management plan with an acceptable completion date or request an arbitration panel by July 17th. If you do not comply by July 17th,I will request a Right of Entry from the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County to enter the property to control the designated noxious weeds at your expense,as provided in Section 35-5.5-109(5a)C.R.S.and Weld County Code,Chapter 15. I will be glad to answer any questions you may have regarding the control or eradication of the noxious weeds on the property. I am also available to assist you in developing short and long term weed management plans. My office phone number is 356-4000,Ext. 3770 or 3771. Please ask for Ron Broda or me.
