Re : Bird Population - Colorado Landfill, Inc. , Erie, CO
At the October 13, 1982 meeting of the Erie Airpark Home-
owners Association, the Board of Directors received numer-
ous complaints of sea gull and other bird flocks in the
area of the above mentioned landfill .
As it was pointed out during the initial hearings, and the
on - set of the landfill , these bird flocks pose a major
hazard to aircraft operations from the Tri-County Airport.
As a matter of record, any developement and increase of
bird population over the landfill would be sufficient
cause for termination of further landfill activities in
that area.
At this time there seems to be positive evidence of a
dangerous, and possibly catastrophic, situation resulting
directly from the landfills presence.
We feel your prompt, if not immediate, attention should be
directed to this serious situation.
