RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF "STOP" AND "STOP AHEAD" SIGNS AT
INTERSECTION OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 39 AND WELD COUNTY ROAD 2
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Engineering has re-
ceived a request from the Adams County Traffic Department that
"stop" and "stop ahead" traffic devices be installed at the inter-
section of Weld County Road 39 and Weld County Road 2, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Engineering, having
made a visual study of said intersection, recommends to the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado that "stop" and
"stop ahead" traffic devices be installed at the intersection of
Weld County Road 39 and Weld County Road 2 to insure safety to
the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, upon the recom-
mendation of the Department of Engineering, has determined that
said signs are necessary for the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the Department of Engi-
neering is directed to install "stop" and "stop ahead" signs at
the intersection of Weld County Road 39 and Weld County Road 2
for the safety of the general public, and that said signs must
conform to the State manual and specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 7th day of
July, A.D. , 1982.

subject Traffic Control at Intersection of W . C . R. 39 and W. C . R. 2
At the request of AdamsCounty ' s Traffic Dept. , I have made a visual
study of intersecting Weld County Roads 39 and 2 . I have found
that a visual problem does exist because of rises and depressions
preceeding this intersection . Therefore , I feel we need to comply
with Adams County ' s recommendation and am recommending that a 30 x 30
Stop Ahead sign and a 30 x 30 Stop sign be placed to control traffic
on Weld County Road 39 . This will make Weld County Road 2 a through-
traffic road complying with other signing in this area .
