Subject: Stormwater letter from Ray C Johnson Dated September 5, 2004
Carol,
On September 22, 2004 I called Ray C Johnson (2222 E 16th Street Greeley) concerning the letter that he had
mailed to the Weld County Commissioners. We discussed why he was being charged and what the money was
going to be used for. We also discussed how and why his property was in the Weld County Stormwater area.
Ray stated that he had had the City of Greeley come out and reassess his property. His bill went from $17.55 to
a little over$7.00.
He didn't seem overly upset, and I told him if he would like to meet in person and discuss this in further detail, that
he was more than willing to come in an talk with me. I gave him my phone number, my e-mail address and the
web address to the EPA stormwater page.
At this time, I will see if Ray calls with any follow up questions or to schedule a meeting.
Let me know if you need anything else,
Dan Joseph

Gentlemen;
The following information which is a copy of a letter I sent to the City of Greeley
Stormwater Management Division of Public Works, to protest the $17.55 per month
levied against my property for storm water management.
September 3, 2004
CEO,Of Greeley Dept of Public Works Statement Acct# 900-817197-00
Stormwater Management Division;
Gentlemen;
Today I received in the mail a statement from the Greeley Director of Finance,
that I must pay$17.55 I suppose each month! And for what? Yes, I read information
regarding the Stormwater Utilities and Boundary via the Greeley Tribune Web Page.
I live 2 miles east of the city limits, I have one acre all grass except for a small
concrete patio. My acre is surrounded by irrigation ditches, all at least 1 foot above
grade. There is NO WAY that any stormwater will run off my property.
If this is connected in some way to a water source from the City of Greeley, I am
not connected to the Greeley Water supply, but to Northern Colorado Water District.
There are no storm sewers or any kind of sewers within a cpl miles of here.
This is a private residence, and 1 am the only occupant. I am_ 78 years of age, trying to
live on Social Security. Come on already!! I would not mind if the fee was a reasonable
$3.50 a month, but—$17.55 is ridiculous!
In the letter that accompanied the statement, it refers to the Board of Weld County
Commissioners as being partners with the City of Greeley in this matter. And, I continue
to protest. Any new ideas?
Yours truly %
