WELD COUNTY COUNCIL
April 20, 2004 RECEIVED

The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld
County Home Rule Charter, Tuesday, April 20, 6:30 p.m., at Weld County's South West
Administrative Complex, 4209 WCR 24 % , Longmont, CO.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by President Douglas Rademacher.
Vice President Chip Marks, Councilman Dwaine Kurtz, Councilman Mitchell Martin, and
Councilman Sander were present, constituting a quorum of the members. Also present:
Mr. Dave Bressler, Mr. Rod Deroo, and the Council secretary, Bev Thomas.
REVIEW PROGRAM: Weld County Director of Paramedic Services Mr. Dave Bressler,
assisted by Operations Manager Rod Deroo, presented a review of Weld County
Paramedic Services. Mr. Bressler covered billing and collections including the
budget impact of Medicaid, Medicare, and Tort Reform of auto Insurance. He
complimented his billing staff and the paramedic service staffs coverage of Weld
County despite the population growth and automobile traffic. He outlined the
cooperation of ALL paramedic services in northeast Colorado which has developed in
response to ever-shrinking resources. Mr. Bressler stated that the Weld County
Commissioners have been proactive in attempting to provide paramedic services to
county residents.
After a five minute break the meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m.

It was moved, seconded, and carried to approve the March 16, 2004 Council Minutes.
2004 First Quarter Report to the People
It was moved, seconded, and carried to approve the 2004 First Quarter Report to the
People.

PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.
NEW BUSINESS:
2004 Council Meeting Programs and Locations
Council members discussed review programs for future 2004 Council meetings.
President Douglas Rademacher will follow-up on a conflict about use of the Southwest
County Complex Large Meeting Room reserved by the Council in 2003 for use in 2004.
PAYMENT OF THE BILLS: It was moved, seconded, and carried to pay the
following bills:
Greeley Tribune Subscription $111.00
Mileage for Vice President Chip Marks $ 21.30
Mileage for Councilman Mitchell Martin $ 14.91
Mileage for Councilman Will Sander $ 36.21
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
