Dear Clerk to the Board of Weld County Commissioners;
The Green Mill Sportsmans Club has submitted an application to Weld County to amend the Use by
Special review permit for the Green Mill shooting range. The purpose of the amendment is to provide for
a law enforcement firearms training facility.
The Weld County Planning Commission reviewed this application on May 2e. The Planning
Commission recommended approval of this application to the Board of Weld County Commissioners.
During the hearing before the Weld County Planning Commission a number of questions were raised
about the application which Green Mill would like to take some additional time to prepare a response to
as a part of the presentation before the Board of Weld County Commissioners. In addition, the approval
of the Planning Commission includes a number of conditions of approval which require review on the part
of the Green Mill Sportsmans Club.
To best respond to the issues raised at the Planning Commission hearing and to evaluate the conditions
of approval, a certain amount of research must be undertaken. Consequently the Green Mill Sportsmans
Club waives its right requiring that the Board of Weld County Commissioners hold its hearing on this
matter within 45 days of the Planning Commission hearing. We would like to contact you within the next
few weeks to confirm a hearing date either in late July or sometime in August to place this matter before
the Weld County Board of County Commissioners.
If you are able to accommodate this request, we sincerely appreciate that scheduling. If this cannot be
accomplished, would you please let me know that as soon as possible. Thank you.

Please support the application from, Green Mill Sportsman Club, for the addition of a
special range for Weld County law enforcement departments to use for training. This will
be an area designed and built for their specific needs. The closure of, The Mile High
Range, on Highway #7 has caused an extreme shortage of training areas for law enforcement
departments.
