The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, August 25, 2004, at the hour of 9:00 a.m.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Robert D. Masden, Chair
Commissioner William H. Jerke, Pro-Tern
Commissioner M. J. Geile
Commissioner David E. Long
Commissioner Glenn Vaad - EXCUSED
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Debra S. Miller
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Geile moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of August 23, 2004, as printed. Commissioner Long seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of $22,359.18. Commissioner Jerke moved to approve the warrants as
presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER CHILD PROTECTION AGREEMENTAND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN-NORTH RANGE
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services,stated the term of the agreement is from
August 1, 2004 through May 31, 2005. Ms. Griego explained that North Range Behavioral will conduct
psychological evaluation and assessment services for child welfare families,children and adolescents at
rates specified within the agreement. Responding to Commissioner Jerke, Ms. Griego stated there is a
provision in the agreement that if the evaluation is only partially completed,the provider will be reimbursed
on an hourly basis. Commissioner Long moved to approve the agreement. The motion, which was
seconded by Commissioner Jerke, carried unanimously.

There being no further business, this meeting was adjourned at 9:05 a.m.
