HomeMy WebLinkAbout20040292.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE FOR HEAD START TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE GRANT AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS,the Board has been presented with an Application for Federal Assistance for the Head Start Training and Technical Assistance Grant between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Human Services, Family Educational Network of Weld County, and the Colorado Department of Health and Human Services, commencing January 1, 2004, and ending December 31, 2004, with further terms and conditions being as stated in said application, and WHEREAS,after review,the Board deems it advisable to approve said application,a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Application for Federal Assistance for the Head Start Training and Technical Assistance Grant between the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,on behalf of the Department of Human Services, Family Educational Network of Weld County,and the Colorado Department of Health and Human Services be, and hereby is, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be,and hereby is, authorized to sign said application. It will pay for tuition, fees and books for Director Certifications, for Teacher CDA's and for ECE Degrees. It will also pay for training for staff on other educational needs or required areas of the program. Travel: Staff Out of Town Travel—This includes funds to allow for 4-5 staff to attend National or Regional trainings. This will pay for airfare or mileage, registration, hotel, shuttle, per-diems, and registrations. This grant allows for all FENWC staff to increase their educational skills to the required needs of the program. This will pay for tuition, fees, and books. Also covered in this application is staff out of town travel. This will pay for airfare or mileage, registration, hotel, shuttle, per-diems, and registrations for 4-5 staff to attend the Nation or Regional trainings.
