RESOLUTION
RE: APPROVE VACATION OF SPECIAL REVIEW PERMIT#639 - GOOSE HAVEN SAND
AND GRAVEL, INC.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution dated July 25, 1984, the Board did approve Special Review
Permit#639 for an Open-cut Wet Gravel Pit with Ancillary Uses Including Concrete and Asphalt
Batch Plants and Casting Plant for J-Bar-B, Inc., on the following described real estate, to-wit:
S1/2 NE1/4 and SE1/4 of Section 36, Township 3
North, Range 68 West of the 6th P.M., Weld County,
Colorado
WHEREAS,the Board has received a request from the current owner, Goose Haven Sand
and Gravel, Inc., P. O. Box 17130, Boulder, Colorado 80308-0130, to vacate said Special Review
Permit#639, as a Condition of Approval for PF#1011, Pelican Shores Planned Unit Development
Final Plan.
WHEREAS,the Board of County Commissioners heard all of the testimony and statements
of those present,studied the request of the applicant and the recommendations of the Department
of Planning Services staff and all of the exhibits and evidence presented in this matter and, having
been fully informed, deems it advisable to approve said vacation.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld
County, Colorado, that Special Review Permit#639 be, and hereby is, vacated.
The above and foregoing Resolution was,on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by
the following vote on the 20th day of December, A.D., 2004.

SUBJECT: Vacation of USR-639
The Department of Planning Services has received the attached letter dated October 20, 2004
from Doug Tiefel with Goose Haven Sand and Gravel, Inc. Mr. Tiefel is requesting that USR-
639 be vacated since the use is no longer being performed on the property.
Background information:
Legal Description: Pt E2 Section 36, T3N, R68W of the 6th P.M., Weld County, CO.
Location: North of and adjacent to County Road 26 and south of and adjacent to
County Road 13.
USR-639: USR-639 was approved by the BOCC on July 25, 1984, for an open-cut
wet gravel pit with ancillary uses including concrete and asphalt batch
plants and casting plants.
Mr. Tiefel recently applied for PF-1011, Pelican Shores Final Plan. Because the Use by Special
Review Permit is no longer active, the Department of Planning Services required the vacation of
USR-639 as a condition of approval. This request for vacation of USR-639 is to satisfy the
Department of Planning Services' condition.

Dear Sheri:
Since gravel mining is now complete on the Pelican Shores property,we are hereby requesting vacation of the
Weld County Special Use Permit#639. We are working with the State of Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
for a release(except for grass seed)of the mining permit M-1984-099.
