Office of the Board of County Commissioners
P.O. Box 758

Dear Commissioners:
Thank you for your recent letter concerning several items of legislation.
Your thoughts are valuable to me, and your experiences with the items
involved have been far in excess of my own, and therefore very helpful
to me.
On S. B. 122, concerning the increasing the interest rate for tax sale
redemptions to 12% per month from the date of sale until redemption:
I think that this is a reasonable request and represents a more realistic
evaluation in our inflationary times.
On S. B. 71 , this bill concerning protection of abused adults has been
followed carefully, and as you know, has been amended somewhat, but without
a great deal of change. The problems you outlined with regard to the
county's costs is a serious concern, perhaps we can handle it as a separate
appropriations system.
S. B. 38 concerning the alternatives of long-time nursing care; I think
you've outlined the problems very well in your discussion. While the
humanitarian objectives are certainly well addressed by this bill , the cost
schedules must be adequately handled by the state, and I will do my best
to help in this matter.
Please keep me informed of any other issues that arise that affect the welfare
of the county government, and the people of Weld County.
Si erely yours,
