Gentlemen:
We moved to Greeley in September,2O00,after living in Lakewood for 31 years. Our neighbors
were kind enough to tell us of our shortcomings, including the so-called lawn which had crabgrass
and a leaking sprinkler system. I have spent many hours and dollars tying to shape it up.They
also said it was illegal to park an 1W on the property.
We bought a fifth wheel trailer in March of 2002. We paid about$1100 in ownership tax, plus
the sales tax. The total was about 53000.
We put the trailer in a storage lot. We pay S30*month,and it would seem to be secure. It has a
high fence and combination to enter the gate.On about the 116 of January, somebody got into
and tore up ten RVs. They broke the back window and blinds and cabinets of ours and stole the
stereo and fire The total damage was 53250.77. We will not be able to use it for
over a month. Ind ,the police were checking for fingerprints on RVs there a few months
ago.
Today's paper said the county's planning commission turned down an application for a 600-unit
RV storage facility in an agricultural area It wasn't"the right spot to put those Rvs,and that the
use is better suited for an urban area". They dictate too often what a peso can do with his own
property. We are well aware that towns don't want mobile home parks.
Meanwhile they approved an enlargement of a feedlot approved in 1973 to 3000 cattle.
You are mighty good at telling others what they can do. And not protecting the property you
won't let us protect. Car lots and former RV storage areas say they also have problems with
crime. we agree with Mr.Feldhaus, you shouldn t depend solely on aesthetics.
Greeley is famous for its aroma, but you ere really going uptown. You put in a Wal-Mart next

door in spite of our protests, and are planning on another lumber yard on 47°i Avenue, apparently.
They sure don't help the value of our property,on which we pay plenty of tax. (Incidentally, they
erred on our property and drainage assessments.)
If Rvs are so bad,and so worthless, how can you charge so much tax on than? We don't take up
room on the highways very often or damage them much.
You must get plenty of taxes if you can afford two million dollars fora skating rink!!!! And
thousands for a turnaround on 47°i Avenue. I can't figure out how people can be speeding there
with four-way stop signs, nor does a turnaround lend itself to pedestrian traffic. Maybe money
would be better spent to get more police officers.
Are you people being consistent?
Does all this makes sense to you? It doesn't to us.
Please reply.
Sincere - .
