We strongly object to any change in zoning that would allow the facility to continue its operations. The site was designated to be used for residential and agricultural purposes. However, Arrested Oil Field Services has shown complete disregard for zoning regulations by operating from its current location. If Arrested Oil Field Services is allowed to continue operating, all of the surrounding property owners will pay the price. We have purchased land and built our homes in an agricultural community. The value of our land and homes will decrease because of the change in zoning. If the facility continues to operate it will increase the traffic in the area, thus, increasing the cost to maintain roads. The facility currently operates throughout the night and it will probably continue to do so, causing disruptions in an otherwise quiet, peaceful area. The proposed development plan is site specific but if it passes, it may open the door to future zoning changes. Arrested Oil Field Services may just want to operate out of an office for now but what happens when the business needs to expand? Will they use the remaining portion of their land to park more trucks and store more equipment when it is still part of the Agricultural Zone District? If Arrested Oil Field Services does not have plans on expanding there is always the possibility that they will sell the property to another company that will use the entire portion of the property for industrial purposes. Zoning regulations are required for situations such as this. They are used to limit the uses of property so that property and home owners can invest in specific areas without fear of losing on their investment and business owners can operate in areas set aside for industrial purposes. If Arrested Oil Field Services wants to continue operating its business, it should move somewhere that is designed for that purpose. Thank you for your consideration in this important matter.
