RE: Weld County Road 13 from WCR 8 to WCR 20
Dear Property Owner(s):
Weld County has partnered with the Colorado Department of Transportation, the City of
Dacono, and the Town of Fredrick to design and construct improvements to Weld County Road
13 from WCR 8 to WCR 20. This project is an extension of the upcoming construction project on
WCR 13, from WCR 2 to WCR 8 which is scheduled to be constructed in 2005. Both of these
Strategic Corridor Projects will focus on providing a safe, functional, economical, and effective
route for regional transportation east of 1-25. Weld County, and our agency and consultant
partners, will be studying the corridor and developing construction plans over the next couple of
years, with construction slated to begin in early 2007. You will have an opportunity to actively
participate in the development of these plans through several public open house and one-on-
one meetings; however we have an early request of you.
Weld County has contracted with Felsburg Holt and Ullevig (FHU) to complete the roadway
design including the development of a topographic survey of the existing roadway. This survey
is expected to begin in the next month. The survey will include collection of data within a 200'
width centered on the existing roadway. Some of this needed survey information is likely to be
on your property. Prior to entering onto your property we ask that we receive your written
approval to do so. Representatives of FHU will be in the field in the next couple of weeks and
will visit with you to receive this permission. Please assist them by reviewing and signing the
"Right-to-Enter"forms that they will be providing to you. We ask that you review, sign, and
return these "Right-to-Enter" forms as soon as possible so we can maintain a timely schedule.
FHU will be available to answer any questions you may have concerning the use of these forms.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (970) 356-4000, ext. 3788, or
email at whoward(oco.weld.co.us. Future information regarding this project will be available on
line at www.co.weld.co.us/publicworks.
Sincerely,
Wayne Howard, P.E.
